I'm baaaa-aak!!!

I'm back after a long summer packed with fun. Dryland training has just started and I'm ready for some good hard workouts to get ready for the upcoming season. We have a weight bench at home and I'll be working out on that too!

I'm way stoked for the up competion season, as I'll be on the older half of my age class!!!

New Update!!

Haven't updated in a long time... nursing an injury. I made it to Nationals in 3 events! Giant Slalom, Slalom and Boardercross. I'm really excited to get back on the snow and train!

I just want to send out a big shout out to Sean at Donek Snowboards, my main sponsor. Just got a new board! It's a Donek Saber 138. Custom made to fit me, it's mainly a board for Boardercross, but I'm gonna try it for Slalom with my Hardboots also!!

This weekend I had a slope and pipe comp:) It was so fun!

The first day was the Halfpipe Competition. My first run people said looked really good, but I fell. So on my second run, I did the same run, but I didn't fall. With those two runs I finished eighth place. Kinda disapointing, but I'm the youngest in my age class, and that pipe is much bigger than ours here at Steamboat.

The second day I had Slopestyle.

Blues Break

Last week I had Blues Break, which is a week off school in the middle of winter. Got to ride a bunch and had some fun competitions.

Thursday I had a Rail Jam competition in the small park on Mt. Werner, just a fun, freestyle event. I won Most Creative! One run I went down one- footed, with my back foot off the binding. Another run I got slingshotted by some skier friends. See the video, It's pretty funny.

Then Thursday night I was in a Big Air comp over at Howelsen Hill, and got my picture in the paper from that! I'll try to post a link to the newspaper article.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday was a BoaderCross (BX) competition in Winter Park. Friday was training. I stayed there at my mom's cousin Bart's house. Saturday was competition. I had a good Time Trial, then made it to the final and got fourth place 'cause I fell.
Sunday was another competition. A pretty decent Time Trial, and then made the Final. In the Final, I got the Hole Shot and then stayed in front for half the course and got passed, and ended up second!
Not bad considering my board was broken and I'm the youngest of six kids in my age class.

A Great Video!

My Awesome Sponsors!!!!

I'm really excited to say I just got picked up by Donek Snowboards!!!! They are a great company who builds custom boards and skis right here in Colorado. We got to meet Sean, the owner and founder at the Summit Expression Session.  Here's a link to their cool website: http://www.donek.com/

Also I'm now a Team Rider for Powder Tools Board Shops. They sell awesome gear and are super nice and fun to work with. The Steamboat store is run by Jake. It's on the second level in Gondola Square. Stop in and tell them Cody sent ya! Or online its: http://powdertools.com/

I ride for the Steamboat Spring Winter Sports Club, or SSWSC, on the Junior Snowboard Team. It's a great ski club here in Steamboat. http://www.sswsc.org/

And of course I ride for my family. My dad makes the coolest Longboard decks, Moonlight Longboards, and a bunch of other great fine woodwork, and I get to help! http://www.davidwinterswoodworker.com/

Today I had a Slopestyle competition in Vail! There were three jumps and two rails. On my first run, I did a tail grab. On the second jump, I did a big mute grab, and on the third jump I did a tail grab. Then On the first rail, I did a boardslide. and on the second rail, I did a grab off of it.  On this run I got a score of 65.34.After that run I was in Third Place out of ten riders in my age class.

On my second run, on the first jump I did an Indy grab. On the second jump I did a big Method air. On the third jump I threw a 180, which turned into a 360! On the first rail, I did a backside boardslide. On the second rail I did a Method. I didn't get to see my score on that run, but I ended up in Fifth Place.

Now I know what I need to work on for my next Slopestyle competition!
